Variety has the skinny on the documentary about Jose Saramago and his wife, Pilar. (As you can see in the video, they’re freaking adorable.)
“Jose y Pilar,” which was produced by Pedro and Agustin Almodovar’s El Deseo, Fernando Mereilles’ 02 Filmes and Portugal’s JumpCut, has been sold to Italy’s Feltrinelli and Mexico’s Plan B.
The docu narrates the real-life love story between Nobel Laureate writer Jose Saramago and Spanish journalist Pilar del Rio, against the background of Saramago’s writing “The Elephant’s Journey,” his last but one novel.

Fernando António Nogueira de Seabra Pessoa, known mainly as Fernando Pessoa (June 13, 1888 in Lisbon, Portugal - November 30, 1935, Lisbon), was a Portuguese poet, writer, literary critic and translator, one of the most significant literary figures of the 20th century and one of the greatest poets of all time.

Stop talking about it guys, I’m already feeling bad enough.
I spent a day in the fishing village of Alvor, in the Algarve region in southern Portugal. For this series I used a Konica Minolta Dynax D5 with a UV filter. The white balance was the main issue because of the brightness.

8 ANOS DE GOVERNO LULA (na visão dos portugueses) http://jorgeweb.com/lula/
Hey y´all! i haven´t posted for a while been its been, complicated to say the very least. I stole a few moments in the city to post this. there´s noise outside! music to my ears!
I haven´t had internet or access to it recently, as I have been in the middle of nowhere - actually I lie, the middle of nowhere is somewhere. This past week i´ve been staying with my mom´s mom and Dad (Grandma Maria José 6 Grandpa Antonio). I love them, as they are my grandparents and family, but they live in a very dull village that is on the verge of extinction, - i may be exaggerating, but not by much. Plus, I feel older and crankier from not seeing a young face for a while.
The village name is Ninho do Açor, its about 20-ish kms from the city, surrounded by… rocks and trees, which can be pretty and refreshing for 2 days max, but after a while one can wander into the trees, rot, and no one would know the difference. an entire week is like brutal, slow torture.
(wow this is becoming kind of depressing, not that i wanted to present that biased idea or anything -_-)
Yesterday was the first day I saw and met someone my age. Everyone else is either too young, or too old, and even so the person i met is a year younger than I, but hey beggers can´t be chosers.
In addition, I can not be exagerating by much when i say that place is on the verge of extinction, because I asked him, who has grown up and lived there all of his life, if there were any other teenagers close to our age around, and he said that as far as he knew no, and that everyone that has lived there, has runaway to the city ( a manner of speaking of course, however, I don´t doubt that some have runaway for real, I think i would consider it greatly if i lived there).
Lately, I´ve been spending most of my time hiking over the same land, baking the same things, always writing in my journal, to tryto keep from insanity at bay.
Also, I didn´t realize this before, but I need both light and sound to fall asleep. I hate the dark rooms here, and pure silence when its time to sleep. OH MY Goodness! IT FEELS LIKE IM BEING SHUT IN A BOX! - there has to be a phobia name for this kind of thing.
I think i should write a book about this entire experience, in the end of it all of course, because if I were to start now, it would be one depressing story, without much of a climax. i´m still holding out for some fun. im crossing my fingers, toes and any other part of my body that can be crossed.
I don´t know when i´ll write again, but i hope it´ll be soon, just to signal that i´m alive. LOL.
okay, so enough depression.
There have been good moments in the past weeks, and a lot of nice scenery. I have met people, just not recently, and i have laughed, a few times.
On my next post, my goal is to be more optimistic. try not to hold your breathe. just joking! :)
i´ll post pictures another time. for now, that´s all.
Any suggestions on what i can do in a small town, where the population is under 500, or lower?
We should meet already.
